Joan -
I haven't had any personal experience with this type of software,
but I noticed you haven't gotten many responses. My
understanding is that the current state of the art is pretty
good, as long as you're running the software on a fast machine.
I noticed winplanet.com had reviews of two of the leading
products at;
Dragon Naturally Speaking -
http://www.winplanet.com/winplanet/reviews/884/1/?nl
IBM Via Voice -
http://www.winplanet.com/winplanet/reviews/660/1/?nl
Hope this helps, :} Jim

Subject: [PCSOFT] Voice Recognition Software
I am researching voice recognition software for a disabled
client. How
well is voice recognition software doing today (technologically)
for
dictation and mail, etc.? What should one look for when choosing
voice
recognition software?
TIA for your feed back and suggestions
