AOL - is not my favorite software - using the uninstall, normally does not
get rid of all of it's devices.

Do all of this before rebooting your system.

1. Ok, you got the adapter from the control panel - also check in the device
manager and right click on Network Neighborhood - got to Properties - and
make sure there is no adapter listed there.

2. Now double click network Neighborhood and open Dial Up Networking. Make
sure there isn't and AOL dialup listed. If it is, delete it as you've done
with the others.

3. If you have Outlook Express, Open it and go to Tools-Accounts, make sure
there are no AOL entries there. I don't believe it will put any there, but
check to be safe.

4. Go to Start-Find-Files or Folders and type in AOL. Delete everything you
find that relates to AOL - it usually leaves behind a few things to say the
least.

5. Now for the biggie - The Registry - you could use a free program to clean
it like Easy Cleaner by ToniArts, it does a fair job of getting rid of most
of the entries. If you are comfortable with using Window's Registry Editor,
you can go to Start-Run then type in "regedit" (without the quotes). After
it opens got to Edit - Find and type in AOL and click Find. When it finds
the key, I highlight the info in the right panel and delete it. Go back to
Edit and click "Find Next", repeat the above procedure for removing the key.
Continue with "Find Next" until you have gone through the entire Registry.
This may take some time so be prepared. AOL usually leaves a lot behind.

After you finish, reboot your system and it should now be cleaned of the
dreaded AOL. and you should be able to use Prodigy, although you may have to
reinstall the software for it.
