I'm sure you'll get varying opinions regarding AV software. You'll obviously
want the best and latest protection for whatever exposure you have. If
you're on the 'net alot, on an internal network with lots of users, or just a
standalone computer there are AV software suited to each situation. I have a
small peer to peer. I prefer Norton AV 5.0. It's easy to use, automatically
scans floppies each time they're inserted, and monitors when you're surfing
the net. Updating the software is the key. An effective AV is one that is
kept up to date. So whichever software you choose, make sure it has the
capability of being updated.
