That reminds me. Awhile back when the SR-1 patch had been released for
a couple of months, ZDNET recommended that you get the Office CD
Maintenance release (Exact name escapes me) that contained a full
version of Office 97 including the SR-1 patch integrated. According to
them, this newer "version" was a lot more stable and was better
organized then installing Office and THEN installing the SR-1 patch.
If I remember correctly, this CD was free from Microsoft, however not
Officially being released, it was only upon special request.
Ironically I received a confirmation that my order was on backorder but
never received the CD. Someone else in our department received one so I
never followed up. It might be worth investigating further and watch to
see if the SR-2 patch integrated within Office 97 will be released
shortly.
