In order to send binary information over e-mail (which is text based), an
encoding of the binary information is needed. BINHEX is one such format that
converts each byte of binary information into two ASCII (text) characters
that represent the Hexadecimal value of the byte.

There are a number of programs to convert BINHEX format back to binary.
First save your attachment to disk, then run the conversion program on the
saved file. A freeware program I ran into on ZDNET www.shareware.com is
called cpbeta.zip.

Hope this helps.

Question: I received an e-mail with an attachment and the message said I
needed to have Bin Hex 4.0 to read the attachment. Could someone please tell
me what this is.
