Why would I get the damaged file message on the XP machines only while I can
go home and open those same files on my ME machine accessing the same e-mail
account??? & what would "damage" the files???

Did you mention in one of your earlier posts that the XP machines use Outlook
or OE to recieve mail? I'm thinking that if you are using Outlook (as part of
a Microsoft Office "x" application), there might be security setting that was
enabled that blocked access to particular file attachments. I've never
encountered a problem in opening e-mails with an attached .pdf file at work (XPPro
SP2 w/Outlook 6) but I couldn't open up .mde files (Access) sent by our other
division. I had to d/l a little program that allows access to file attachments
Outlook considered "dangerous". Here is a link to this program which is
Shareware. I made a little donation because thats what I believe in and it's very
useful. It works without donations, but with no technical support.

In addition, I found an article on Microsofts website that also may explain
why .pdf files are not being opened on your PC after being sent as an
attachment.

Hope this helps.
