Right click on a blank part of your desktop and select
Properties>"Appearance", then select "Windows Standard" in the "theme" box
and "desktop" in the "Items" box, then "Apply" to see what it looks like.
If you don't like that, make another selection and click "Apply". When you
get the look you want, click OK.

I know this seems really simple but it is a very frustrating problem to
me. I use windows ME and use desktop themes on my display. My nephew
was playing on the computer and changing the display properties. Now
every time I log on the titles under the shortcut icons and the
status/start bar at the bottom show up black with HUGE white
letters. I have to go into display and choose a new desktop theme to
correct it but it goes back to the black/white problem the next time I
log on. PLEASE HELP!!!
Thank you!
