Mary you are a genius. I did for the first time "Make a page available for
offline viewing" That indeed was the culprit. Thank you for your input.

Do you have IE set to update subscriptions to favorite web pages? I guess
it says "Yes, notify me of updates and download the page for off-line
viewing."  Or something similar.

Hope you track it down.
