This is how I do it.

To remove a progam/icon from the task bar: Right click it then select
delete.

To add a program/icon to the task bar: Find the program or file via
Explorer/My Computer and drag it to the task bar then select 'Create
Shortcut'

There is another way, but let's keep life easy eh ? :-)
