I am unable to run scandisk, disk cleanup, and defrag.  All stop prior to
completion.  This has been going on for about 3 weeks and since then I have
reinstalled windows (98SE) twice to no avail.

I have the exact same problem with my Norton (2000) speed disk and disk
optimization wizard.  I also reinstalled Norton System Works and AV and that
didn't help either.

I just ran my system file checker and found that I have 7 .dll files with
problems.  I couldn't figure out how to reinstall them using my OS disk.  I
had one with a problem before and I managed to figure out how to replace it
but this time I couldn't.

I don't know if these two problems are related, but I need to correct them
both.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
