Thanks so much for your help.  I ended up using another suggestion of going
to add/remove programs that worked well.  Your suggestion would have been
the next one I tried if the first one didn't pan out.  But I will keep this
web site bookmarked for future use.  I am new to all these things and I
welcome any suggestions such as yours! thanks, jan
