I installed Office 2000 on my Cyrix 686 P-200 with 64M RAM with the Windows
98 OS. Whenever Excel 2000 displays a message box such as an error or alert
asking for "OK" or "Help" response, Excel appears to quit responding. The
buttons on the message box move when pressed, however nothing else happens.
The box can be moved, but no other part of Excel will respond. The only way
out is to Ctrl-Alt-Delete and end the Excel task. I removed and reinstalled
Office and the problem went away for a day or so. Now it is back. There are
no other indications of problems and Excel functions as long as nothing
happens to generate a message box. Any/All comments or suggestions would be
appreciated.
