Diane..

This should do the trick

1.. Right-click the Desktop and select New > Shortcut
2.. In the Command line box type:

  for one click shut down

  for one click restart

  for one click Log off

3.. Click Next and give it the appropriate name (Shut Down or Restart)

  Subject: [PCSOFT] Restart Commands

  Dear Listers,

I have a Shutdown command I use on my desktop, but I was looking for a
Restart and a Restart Windows (not the entire computer) commands on my
  desktop.

  Anyone know of any?
