If I use the utility at grc.com to disable Plug&Play, will it affect the devices I currently have on my system so that they may not work?  I don't know a lot about device drivers.  

If I do this and later need Plug&Play to activate device drivers, can I reactivate it?

I don't want to use it and then find that I can't use some of my devices.
