Did you try swapping the cables between the hdd and the dvd drive at the device end? I have a DVD and HDD connected and the bios only sees the DVD. When I get windows to run with the OS and the DVD, the HDD shows in "computer" and "device manager". I loaded the OS on a new HDD and the same thing, the bios doesn't see the hdd so there is no way to link to it.
