I'm working on a computer and the OS is -  "Modified XP " ???
  There are program icons, but NO  My Computer  or My Documents. Has anyone seen anything like it ?? The hard drive speeds up and whines when the computer is in use. I'm afraid that it might fail on the owner.
  There is the START  in the taskbar and it opens like Win2K, not XP.
  There is control panel and add/remove programs, but almost every program
