As you are running Win98SE, I am assuming that your machine is not "new".
Also, you don't say if you've made any software changes, so I'll assume you
haven't and that this problem just started happening out of the blue.  With
that in mind, I would suggest that you make sure you have run virus scans
and spyware scans.  If they come up negative, then you may want to start
looking at hardware problems.  For example, memory chips that are on the
way out, or a hard drive that's starting to die.
