I recently purchased a new NEC computer with preinstalled Windows 98. I am
having problems with operating the Power Management operation both physically
and automatically. When I choose a setting or push the power management
button on the front of the CPU the CPU and monitor would power down, but I
could not get the full power back on, any action I took would not restore
power. Blank screen and no way to shut off the computer except push the
shutoff button, which is of course a no no.

Talked with NEC tec. people. They instructed me to disable the Power
Management saying there is a recognized problem with the Power management
software and leave it disabled until a patch or upgrade is available.

Question then, has anyone else with Windows 98 experienced this problem or has
any knowledge of same. Any suggestions or comments would be greatly
appreciated.
