Reasons for leaving mail on the server:
You may for various reasons need to access your mail from another computer.
You may have inadvertently deleted one or more emails on OE/O.
You may have crashed and lost downloaded mail.
(All have happened to me.)
If leaving mail on the server, be sure to keep track of available space and delete accordingly - neglect or one or more monster downloads can fill the inbox and cause bounced messages.
