What am I missing?>>

Yes. The Start button activates the Start menu. If you are missing
anything, you probably have it set in the old "classic" mode. Though it's
tempting to do so, you'll miss a lot. Set your folders to Classic view, by
all means, but not the Start Menu.

Right click the Start button, select Properties, and switch the view to the
XP mode by selecting the "Start" option. You can also play around with the
Customize button if you want. The Admin tools, and other essentials, should
then be visible.

Another thing to remember when newly migrating to XP is to use the internal
Help and Support. A lot of things in XP are not where you think they'll be.
Help and Support is really good, with excellent tutorials, articles, and
direct links to everything you're ever likely to want. You'll probably want
to disable the external Help and Support service (in Admin Tools/Services)
or it may drive you mad trying to connect to the Ms site for external
support. Many other Services should also be disabled while you are there,
especially for a stand-alone single-user computer (see
http://www.blackviper.com/ ---Services configurations.)
