Actually, this is the task bar. The system tray is on the
right-hand side, where the clock and calendar reside, along with
certain other apps (depending on your configuration).
The file you are looking for is called (at least on my Win95a
machine with Internet Explorer 4.01 SR-1) Show Desktop.scf. The
file itself is located in C:\Windows\System. There is a "Windows
Explorer Command"--which places it on the task bar in the
location you specified--located in C:\Windows\Application
Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch. If there is no way
to "create" a "Windows Explorer Command" (in the Quick Launch
directory), you should be able to open Explorer, drill down to
C:\Windows\System, right-click and drag Show Desktop.scf to the
task bar, then choose "copy here" or "create shortcut here" from
the context menu that should appear.
