Hello everyone...
A friend of mine had gotten the W32.dss.trojan virus, (by opening the
attachment "openme.exe" in an email message). We successfully removed the
virus by following the directions at Symantec - updating virus definitions
- and doing full system scan and deleting all files infected with it. He's
still getting a message "can not find file "openme.exe"" upon startup, and
a request to search for it. I've looked in all the usual places for the
startup command that is calling this file, with no luck. (msconfig -
startup tab, system registry - all the Run keys, win.ini, and system.ini)
Has anyone here had any experience with the dss.trojan virus that might
help he locate this nuisance? He's running WinXP Pro with Norton Anti Virus
2002 w/latest virus definition updates. Thanx
