its hard to tell what the problem may be without more information such as what version of Word, what OS and what directory or file you are trying to get to.

in general, error 1025 is just what it says; Word can not find the file or folder which you are trying to access. in the case of files, it may not be able to find the underlining templates or associated files (merges).

try opening Windows Explorer (File Manager?) and navigating to the file you want to open, then double clicking it to see if Word will open it. if this is successful then you know the shortcuts in Favorites (favorites is just a folder of shortcuts) are bad and can be recreated (check your Windows help file). if this is not successful then you have other problems.

When I got into Word and choose favorites and try to open a directory, I
get this error:

Error 1025
Word cannot open the document.
Try one or more of the following:
*On the File menu, click Open to open the document.
*Make sure the document has a .DOC extention.

After hitting Ok, I get a Run-time error '1025': from Microsoft Visual
Basic

Favorites was working fine until this problem showed up. Any ideas?
