We just finished a complete reinstall from the CD-ROM of Win XP Pro on a
Dell workstation for our kids where the OS apparently surrendered to the
combination of several serial installations of different file sharing /
spyware / domain extension applications. As we commenced, we noticed that
the existing installation did not have all the OS cab files in a
Windows/Options/Cabs folder as formerly did Win98. That sure was handy for
me several times. Does anyone on the list know of this? Is there a
convenient way to copy the XP Pro files to the hard drive in the same
manner? Just what folders/files might one transfer?
Any help on this would be appreciated as this XP Pro just is killing us
trying to get it properly installed and configured.
