Hi Sam
I may have missed something on this thread, but must mention that I've used
both Netscape (earlier v 3.0 and now 4.05) and Eudora (3x and 4x) for quite
some time now, and I have no problems with the mailto: URLs' in Netscape.
Eudora opens automatically as expected. It doesn't have to be kept open and
minimised to catch clicks from Netscape.
The 2 critical Eudora settings that I think are needed are in Tools/Options :
1. In "Extra Warnings" : The box with "Start Eudora and it's not the
default mailer" has to be kept checked.
2. In "Miscellaneous" : The box with "Intercept Netscape mailto: URL's" has
to be checked.
One possibility is that Eudora is not set on your system as the default
mailer. If you keep the box I've referred to in "Extra warnings" checked,
the next time Eudora is opened, a question asking you if you'd like Eudora
as the default mailer will pop up. Of course, you'll have to respond "Yes".
Hope this helps.
