A divorced customer has been awarded the family XP Pro computer as part of her settlement (the husband got to keep the dog:--))

She doesn't want to change the appearance of the computer, (desktop settings, shortcuts etc etc), or the way it runs, but she's adamant that I eradicate every instance of the old user name (her married name) and replace them with her maiden name.

I've tried this sort of thing a few times before with XP, and every time I've screwed something up and the computer has lost desktop settings, mail account settings, even installed programs have no longer functioned correctly.

Does anyone know if it's possible to 'eradicate' a user like this, while retaining all of the settings?

By way of further information, there was only one user account set up (as well as the hidden administrator account, accessed through Safe Mode), so all that's needed to start Windows is a single push of the power-on button.

And in Documents and settings, there's the usual folders - Administrator, All Users, Default User and the offending 'married name' folder.
