Yes, the original MS Office XP Pro CD was present in the drive before I went
through the prompts (or even opened Excel). There is no PRORET.msi file on
the CD. The only .msi file appears to be CAG.msi. The file path "defaults" to
"Microsoft Office XP Professional". This doesn't look right to me, but I
tried "ok" anyway. As expected, no joy. Error returned, "...cannot find
specified path....try to find the installation package PRORET.msi...". So, I browse
to the CD pointing to CAG.msi (as this is the only msi file on the disk).
Message returned, "D:\CAG.MSI is not a valid installation package for the
product...try to find PRORET.msi in a folder from which you can install Microsoft
Office XP Professional." That's where I'm at. I'm not sure where to go or find
the PRORET.msi. Again, my searches online leave me with more questions than
answers. Further consideration would be wonderful on this. Thanks again for
the reply.
