I assume that when you say fully patched and updated, you mean you are
using OE version 5.
If you load OUTLOOK from your Office 97 CD, then you would:
1. Take a step backwards in reliability and stability (I've used both the
CD version and the free download.  Both would crash and burn every 2-3
weeks.)
2. Gain a calendar system that is not intuitive and is highly cumbersome
to deal with.
3. Change your current address book into a more complicated version than
you have now.
4. Gain a ToDo/NOTE system that is unproductive and (IMHO) worthless.
5. But you DO get to have double software installed since Outlook does not
have it's own newsgroup module -- it must use OE to access newsgroups.
6. AND you would have the option to use Word as your email composer (I
don't know why you would want that, but it is an option).
