My experience with USB is less than stellar. I have more devices that I care
to admit plugged in to various hubs and ports. What I have found is that if
a device is moved to a different port Widows will install it again. I have
the same two printers installed many times from doing just that. Makes
selecting the printer a chore at times when there is Epson, Epson (copy 1)
Epson (copy 2) Etc. You may want to find your way to the device manager,
Windows Key-Pause-Break Key. Delete your mouse in "Mouse" then reboot. If
there is more than one delete them all. Windows should reinstall upon
rebooting. You'll have to navigate around with the keyboard using the arrow
and Tab keys. Pain in the neck but it may get your rodent back for you.

I did do a restore to no avail. I can't figure out how to update drivers
without the mouse to do so. I also put the mouse in every USB slot on the
computer, also no help.
