Assuming the client is not fooling with the settings/configuration.....

It sounds more like a network redirection problem than a software
configuration problem.  Have you actually seen the problem AS IT OCCURS or
are you called in after-the-fact to fix it?
If you go to the PC that actually has the deskjet, what happens when you
try to send to the laser?
and what happens in the opposite direction?

Please answer via the list and not directly to me.  No one else can see
this conversation and learn from it or contribute to it.
