Actually, the pictures should already be on the local machine, but they are
in the cache area (temporary internet files). It is possible to search
through these files and find the appropriate pictures. However, there may be
a large number of such files and some sort of graphics viewer would be
needed. I do this with a shareware program called Thumbs Plus
(http://www.cerious.com).

The pictures are out on the web and the html document pages you have refer
to the pictures "out there". You can see them while on line because the
html page goes out and retrieves them. To make the pictures available off
line, you will need to download the pictures and edit the html pages to
refer to the local copies of the pics.
