Hi friends, I just bought a new computer HP8750c with windows 98se
installed. This machine has a CD Writer in it, which I have never used
before and my question is can I use Windows 98se back up program and this
drive to back up my computer, if so. how? I was using Iomega Easy tape drive
to back up before but thought it might be more convenient to use the CD-R.
The first problem I saw was when I went into Windows back up program and I
wanted to try a back up test it would not give me the option to use my "M"
drive witch is my CD-R drive. The only option I got was, file or QIC tape
witch is my tape drive. Any help to point my in the right direction to get
started would be appreciated. TIA

Marv,
What you need to do is try to get yourself a copy of Adaptec DirectCD. This
program formats rewriteable CDs so that you can use them through your
Windows Explorer just as you would your floppy drive , hard drive, and even
your tape drive. You can copy files to the CD writer just like you do to a
floppy.
