R U trying to delete malware or viruses?
You must make note of the names and locations of the files. Most security software will inform u of the name and path of the offending files. Software like winpatrol, avast antivirus, hijackthis, sygate firewall, etc

Any file can easily be deleted by doing the
following;

1. using the windows XP installation CD restart the PC with the CD inside the CD drive.

2. Press any key to boot from CD

3. Choose R to repair existing windows

4. choose the windows installation partition (usually option 1 for C:\windows)

5. Enter administrator's password (press enter for none)

6. change directory to where the files are located

7. type the delete command: del filename.ext

8. You may try using the attrib command: attrib -hr filename.ext
---------------------------------------

If you are running Windows 98 then choose command prompt only after pressing and releasing the F8 key aggressively and repeatedly during restart.
