While looking for a problem with my e-mail, I noticed one of
my Java installations was damaged.   j2re-1_3_1_01-win
Sun - Java 2 , Standard Edition Version 1.3.1 Microsoft
Windows -- (and also the earlier version of the same thing.)

Sun says this is normal.  There is a Registry hack to get
rid of the "error about the error" on the following page.
