After years of experts saying "you can't get a virus from email
*unless* you execute attachments", someone has come up with a trojan (a
program that tries to make you *want* to run it) that spreads itself as
an attachment.
Network Associates (www.nai.com) have a good write-up about this on
their site -- they call it "W32SKA".
A proper warning should point readers to there, or to some other
reputable source -- you shouldn't have to take the word of the person
who sent you the warning. If there is no such reference, you are right
to treat the warning as a probable hoax, and should refrain from
circulating it further without confirmation.
[I have, over the weekend, seen HAPPY99.EXE. It does exist.]
