I recently wrote that I was unable to open Microsoft Word 2000 or any Word attachment I received in Outlook Express.  Not being able to solve the issues, and not receiving any tips that rectified the problem, I "Googled" and found the answer.  The solution stated to search for "Normal.dot" and rename it "Normal.old" - without the quotes, of course.  I guess it had something to do with the Word template.   No reason was given for what caused the problem. Voila!  My problem is solved.
