since I used Word 2000, but apparently it does have the booklet capability.

You did not explain why you were using a downloaded template. What was the
template supposed to do? To print booklets, you don't need a special
template, just go to page setup and select folding booklet from the multiple
pages option. The links above explain in more detail.

Using a Word template that I downloaded. Template was created in an earlier
version of Word. I have Word 2000. Seeing all blank pages at print preview.
I don't see where I can select any options for printing a folding booklet.
Margins set at 1.25 top/bottom, 1 left/right.
