The Windows "Messenger" service exists to handle urgent LAN notifications,
such as "The sysadmin needs to reboot the server", or "The UPS says that
utility power has failed".
Unfortunately, spammers have discovered that many people can receive these
messages from remote internet sites. Apparently you are one of them. That
usually means that your machine is also an open target for a variety of
worms and spyware....
Visit Gibson Research at http://www.grc.com and look for the "Shields Up!"
page. Test your system with that utility. I believe he recommends various
free defensive measures -- install them and retest until your machine passes
the test. You should then no longer be reachable by this method (and a
variety of nastier ones!).
