I had this exact same issue before.  Firstly, make sure you have the most
current STABLE version of explorer, which should be 5.5, sp1.  Secondly
check the source on the JPGs to make sure they are linked correctly.

If you still can't get them, let me know where they are located and I will
do some more investigating for you.
