Hello, I'm hoping someone can help me find a hidden pop-up blocker in my Windows98 programs.
A study course I'm taking over the internet would not start. I called the school tech support and was told that my Google pop-up blocker was interfering with the lesson. I turned it off but still the lesson would not start. I called again and the tech support agent asked about AOL (which I don't use), investigated, took control of my pc, tried different things but still no progress. Another techie came on board and believes I have another pop-up blocker. He asked that I do a CTL/ALT/DELETE to see if he could recognize any program that might be the culprit but none of the names I called out was familiar enough for him to want to delete, so nothing was done. He sent me to an internet site (I have IE) that he knew had 2 pop-ups and sure enough, no pop-ups appeared. He concluded that I still had an active pop-up blocker. Can someone tell me how to find where this pop-up blocker might reside so that it can be removed/disabled and I can continue with my lessons.
Thank you,
Margarita
