I use Outlook Express v 6.00.2800.1123 and the spelling check no longer works. The help file gives two options to spell check. #1 is to click on the Spelling check on the tool bar. I then get a message, "An error occurred while the spelling was being checked". The #2 option is to click "Spelling" in the tools menu or to hit F7. This results in the same message. When I send an email a message appears saying that spell check has halted and do I want to send anyway. The help menu also says that OE uses the spell check of Word, Excell or Power Point. The spell checks in Word 97 and Excell 97 work just fine. I can't think of any reason for spell check to quit unless deleting a trial copy of MS Publisher might have caused it.
I frequently make spelling errors and would very much like to restore spell checking to outlook Express. Thank you.
