Norton is still the best and they are working on their poor customer service.  Get Internet Security 2009 on CD.  Do not bother with annual download renewals.  Do a clean install.  After rebates, I paid $5.95 for it at Office Depot at the end of last year.  I used Avast! for years and waited until the new models were getting old to get the incentives.  More important!  Use a good cleaner like CCleaner after EVERY internet session and do not leave your PC running especially when your on DSL.  This and regular Restore points and scans should keep you clean.  Also, get a good back-up program that will image your drive and learn how to use OS repair off of your XP disc.

I installed Norton 360 v.2.0 and immediately started having problems.
Although I didn't associate with Norton at first.

1. My email started to download duplicates, as many as 50 of the same
message,

2. I tried to do an XP pro restore and was not able to, it seems because of
Norton,

3. my right mouse key started to act up causing explorer to shutdown when I
rt ck on files or desktop short cuts.

I used control panel program add/remove to uninstall Norton and these
problems were gone.

My question is how can Norton sell a product with these problems, or did I
not do the installation correctly? When I uninstalled it said I would lose
the remainder of my one year subscription, my answer is so what!!!
