Sorry, Jeanie, I was doing it wrong - I was setting Highlight on the Find portion instead of the Replace portion. Thank you so much for the information. -Ann

Dorothy, it is possible to use Find and Replace and leave the "Replace"
space blank and specify Format: Highlight. In the Find and Replace dialog
box, be sure to click on More. That will give you options for using
wildcards and word forms. So, when I put in *ly, and left replace blank but
specified Highlight, all the endings of ly were highlighted (not the entire
word). When I specified Find for all word forms and put in "has," all the
haves and hads were highlighted.
