until I got an error message from Windows telling me some clusters of my
hard drive were corrupted...


OUCH!  Sorry to hear that.  I should have prefaced my previous post with the
fact that a clean format and re-installing everything is ALWAYS the
preferred method to change/add hard drives.  There is MUCH less room for
error...
