I have just purchased a new computer with Win 98 running. A curious thing
has happened and I would like advice.

When I first started using the computer, right-clicking the Start button
brought the usual choices, headed up by "Open" and "Explore". After a number
of software installations, tweaking etc, including Microsoft's Powertoys
which add a number of useful shell extensions, I now find that when I
right-click the start Button, those two options, specifically "Open" and
"Explore" are permanently greyed out and inaccessible.

Curiously, these options are available on other menus, jut not the start
button. New ones I have added like "Explore from Here" are OK. Curious.
Where did they go, and why are they no longer visible?

Has anyone got a fix for this? Is this a quirk of Win98 using the Win95
Powertoys? It is not an urgent problem, since I can still use "Explore from
Here" to edit the contents of my Start Button, but I am curious.

Thanks to all, and have a great holiday everyone.
