Hello Lisa.

I reinstalled Outlook98, and all of a sudden it was necessary to backup
Mailbox.pst, and Mailbox.pab.  They're on your HD now; maybe in the Windows
folder, or possibly under Profiles.  You can run
Find.......................!

I'd check for these files, and if found, back them up now, and especially
back them up after the reinstall.
