Hi Linda,

Grisoft does keep a record of the serial number issued to you. I have, on
occasion, had a need to download the program again and when I did using the
same e-mail address, I received an e-mail with the same serial number.
Whether this is tied into 'registration', I don't know. I suspect they use
the information internally for some other reason. When the serial number is
entered on installation, it is recorded by the program (AVG Control Panel,
Information tab), but I have seen no evidence that this is transmitted to
Grisoft.

Prior to downloading, you agree to a License Agreement which states:

"You may install and use only one copy of the Software for single home or
non-commercial organization computer protection only, irrespective of the
number of times you download the Software or the number of licenses you
purport to accept. You may not use the Software on a network or more than
one PC".

With this in mind, I suggest you have your friends/clients complete the
forms and download their own copy from Grisoft. Then offer assistance with
installation or help in configuring AVG afterwards.

Sven Swanson, Sr.

Subject: [PCSOFT] AVG License Info - Free Edition

I have been recommending AVG anti-virus
program to friends or clients home
computers when they have expressed the
need for a good program.

My question is how is the license being
registered? If I have the license key
from my own install and the program is
being installed on a qualified computer
(single, home-user, not a company), can
I just keep using the same license key
without a problem of the license being
duplicated? Or,if I am helping someone
install and I continually use my own
email address to retreive the new
license key, am I eventually going to
have a problem?

Thanks!

Linda Denny
