I for one would like to know what worked, if you get this fixed. I was
temporarily able to hide the menu, I assume yours is missing too, but Word
now will not allow me to do it again. The menu (file, edit,view,etc) is a
special toolbar, named 'menu bar' obviously enough. You may be able to
restore it by using Alt-T, Alt-C, then scrolling down and checking 'menu
bar'. This setting is in the registry, not in normal.dot, at least from my
testing, normal.dot does not control this dialogue window.
Funny, this check isn't grayed out, but I can no longer clear it. I can
'float' the menu bar, but I can't hide it now.
