Further information: The Publisher document in question is on computer A and is shared with write privileges.  On computer B on the same LAN, the document cannot be opened because "the document is in use by another program". There are no other programs running on either computer according to task manager.  This locked status seems to apply to only the most recent documents created on computer A.
How can I unlock the documents?  The documents open ok on computer A.

  I sometimes run into documents that are "locked" which I can't open. I haven't done anything to make these documents locked.  Specific documents now are Publisher documents.  How do I unlock them?
