Hi:

I use Windows 98 SE with IE SP1, and I no longer use Spybot S&D nor Ad-Aware because I have just two programs that take care of all of this as follows;

ClamWin Antivirus, Antispyware and Antimalware free Open Source program.    http://www.clamwin.com/content/view/18/46/
The last few times that I used Spybot S& D and Ad-Aware, they did not work very good at all, so I ditched them for ClamWin.
 
I use the free MailWasher for Outlook Express and it works very well.  http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=download+the+free+MailWasher+for+Windows+98+SE&btnG=Google+Search

And lastly, I use the free System Security Suite (3S) to clean out my Temp. Internet Files, Temp Folder, Cookies, History, Dat and other files.  It does a beautiful job.
